Harriett Frances Cummins, daughter of Joseph and Cynthia Ann Cummins, was born in Harrison County, Kentucky, on April 4, 1865, and departed this life March 10, 1929, aged 63 years, 11 months, and 6 days. She moved to Illinois with her mother in early childhood and lived in this vicinity the remainder of her life.

She was united in marriage to Mortimer M. Price on December 25, 1881. To this union were born five children. She is survived by her husband; two daughters, Cynthia Watt of Lincoln and Cordia Baker of Rose Hill; one son, Bert Price at home; two brothers, Flem Cummins of Newton and Jackson Cummins of Beecher City; two sisters, Eliza Wise of Newton and Ressa Whitehurst of Pontiac; five grandchildren; great grandchildren and other relatives. One son, William Taylor Price, died in 1906 and one daughter, Mrs. Maymie Catherine Bowers in 1925.

She was a loving and devoted mother and a good neighbor and friend. Her passing will be mourned by her many acquaintances and friends. Funeral services were held at the home, with interment in the Brooks Cemetery.
