Graveside services for William Lee (Bill) Barwick Sr. of Boston are at 10 a.m., Friday, Aug. 31, 2007, at Laurel Hill Cemetery on 15th Street. The Rev. Mitch Clements and the Rev. Tim Phillips will officiate. Mr. Barwick died Wednesday, Aug. 29.

Born May 4, 1923, in Monticello, Fla., he was a son of the late Hubert Houston Barwick Sr. and Annie Bell Barwick. On Feb. 17, 1949, in Thomasville, he married Agnes Parramore Barwick who preceded him in death on July 18, 2003. He was a gunners mate in the U.S. Navy, a retired farmer and a member of Summerhill Baptist Church.

Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Julie and Ben Parker of Boston; son and daughter-in-law, Lee and Melanie Barwick of Boston; granddaughter and grandson-in-law, Heather and Capt. Lee Robinson of Georgetown, Texas; grandsons, Heath Parker, Michael Barwick both of Boston; and sisters, Christine Crittenden of Thomasville and Lucille McCann of Maine. He was preceded in death by a brother, Hubert H. Barwick. The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8 p.m., today at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Summerhill Baptist Church or Boston Baptist Church. — Whiddon-Shiver Funeral Home
