MONTROSE-- Funeral arrangements for Ernest H. Franzmeier, 69, being made with Conley Chapel, are still incomplete today.
A resident of the Uncompahgre Valley for 50 years, Mr. Franzmeier had ranched in the Maple Grove area on Spring Creek Mesa before retiring and moving to town. He died about 8 a.m. Tuesday at his home.
Born April 21, 1891, at Loran, Ill., a son of Henry and Anna Franzmeier, he spent his childhood in Illinois and Oklahoma. He married Grace Parsons at Montrose in 1912. He was a member of the Methodist Church and Farmers Union.
Surviving are his wife; two sons, Howard, Biloxi, Miss., and Harold of Venezuela; five brothers, Walter, Milwaukee, Wis., Albert, Houston, Tex., H. A., Freeport, Ill., Fred, Galena, Ill., and Floyd, Madison, Wis; two sisters. Mrs. marie Trenary, Newkirk, Oklahoma, and Mrs. Anna Gertzenburger, Mount Home, Ark., and five grandchildren.
