Mrs, Emma G. Murphree

On the afternoon of March 3rd at 4:50, Mrs. Emma Murphree, one of the oldest citizens of Okolona, peacefully passed into the beyond, at her residence here, surrounded by her friends and loved ones.

She was born in the suburbs of Okolona seventy years ago and remained through the seventy years, within a short distance of her home. She was married early in life to L. A. city, Henley G. Murphree, of Rockdale Texas, and Dorr S. Murphree, of Roxton Texas. She is also survived by a twin sister, Mrs. Ada Perry, of Rockdale Texas, five granddaughters one step-daugnter, Mrs. Ella White, of Pensacola Florida, and one step-son, Mat. T. Murphree,
of Helena, Arkansas, the latter being with her when the end
came.

Funeral services were held from the Episcopal Church of which she was a devout member by Rev. J. H. Brooks, Pastor of First Methodist Church. She was laid to rest under a beautiful coverlet of flowers in the I.O. O. F. Cemetery.
