Funeral services for Alvin Eddlemon, 63, of Angleton are set for 10:00 a.m. Thursday, August 3, 2006, in the Palms Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Steve Scott officiating. Burial will follow in the Angleton Cemetery.
Visitation will be Wednesday from 5 to 8 p.m. at Palms. Alvin died Monday, July 31, 2006, at his residence.
Alvin Eddlemon was born July 25, 1943, in Athens, Texas, to William A. and Hazel Dixon Eddlemon. He moved to Angleton when he was 13 years old and graduated from Angleton High School in 1961. He worked as a line mechanic for Omeara Scott Chevrolet, Lee Motor Co. and Moore Motor Co. before working with his father at Bills Garage in 1966. He retired due to heart trouble in 2000. Alvin served as an Angleton P.D. Reserve officer for 11 years and ended his career as sergeant. He loved to fish with his father and many friends, like Doc Oubre. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Ernest.
