Annie Mary Cornelius Abernathy, 90, of Sherrills Ford, passed away Saturday, May 31, 2008 at the Brian Center-Mooresville, N.C.

Born August 1, 1917 in Catawba County, she was a daughter of Edgar and Hattie Goodson Cornelius.

She was a lifelong member of Rehobeth United Methodist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, James Floyd Abernathy; son, Jimmy Edd Abernathy; sisters, Neva Cornelius Howard and Louise Cornelius Byers; and brothers, Carlton Cornelius and Wade David Cornelius.
