Died Wednesday, May 21, 1975, at 5:48 a.m. at Rapides General Hospital, Alexandria. He was 85, a resident and native of Catahoula Parish. He was a retired lawyer; elected district attorney of Seventh Judicial District in 1948, retired after serving 18 years; member of Bar Association for 60 years, attended Louisiana Tech and Louisiana State universities.

Funeral services 10 a.m. Friday at Harrisonburg Baptist Church, Harrisonburg, Rev. Jesse Watkins officiating. Burial in Harrisonburg Cemetery, Young's Funeral Home, Jonesville, in charge of arrangements.

Survived by seven daughters, Mrs. Wana Ann Fort, Rhodesia, Africa, Mrs. Marjorie Dale Sharp, Alexandria, Mrs. James Shannon Norman, Walnut Creek, Calif., Mrs. Polly Hamilton, Tulsa, Okla., Mrs. Ora Leland Mills and Mrs. Rose Katherine Ellzey, both of Baton Rouge, Mrs. Evelyn McDonald, Greenville, S.C.; one sister, Miss Lallie Gibson, Pineville; 24 grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.
