He was a native of Braxton and was employed by the Farmers Home Administration. He was a WWII Army veteran and member of Braxton Methodist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Mary Bush Barwick; daughter, Mrs. Elsie Theresa Johnson of Pearl; a son, James Andrew Barwick, Jr. of Panther Burn; sisters, Miss Anna Bess Barwick of Braxton and Mrs. Carolyn Grant of Jackson; and four grandchildren.
