Mary Helen Hennington Scott, 87, died Tuesday, November 26, 2002, in Cottonwood, Ariz. Visitation is 5-8 p.m. today at Stringer Funeral Home in Crystal Springs. Services are 11 a.m. Friday at First Baptist Church Chapel in Crystal Springs with burial in Crystal Springs Cemetery.

Mrs. Scott was born on March 1, 1915 in Crystal Springs. In her later years she resided in Wilmington, North Carolina, near her daughter, Donna, and for the last two years in the home of her son and daughter-in-law, Bill and Sylvia Scott.

Mrs. Scott or Mimi, as everyone called her, spent most of her time while she lived in Crystal Springs working in many different capacities in the First Baptist Church and in particular, she enjoyed singing in the choir. She loved to garden and was very active in the garden club.

During Mrs. Scott's entire life she doted on the family and doted on her six grandchildren.

Survivors include son, Bill Scott of Cottonwood, Arizona; daughter, Donna Scott Tillman of Wilmington, N.C.; and six grandchildren, William Harold Scott Jr., Sylvia Gayden Scott Day, Charles L. Scott, Paul Eugene Scott, Dillon Tillman, and Marleah Tillman.

Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church Adult Choir, Crystal Springs, MS.
