JACKSON, Claude - It is with sincere regret that we are called upon to chronicle the death of Claude Jackson which occurred at his home in this city yesterday at 12:30 p.m. The deceased was in the 30th year of his age, was born and reared in this community and had the respect and good will of everyone who knew him. He was possessed of a sunny and amiable disposition and though sorely afflicted during the past two years he never lost those admirable traits of character but was always cheerful under the most trying circumstances to a remarkable degree. Indeed it has been often remarked by his friends that he bore his affliction with more fortitude and cheerfulness than anyone with whom they had ever come in contact. The deceased is survived by his wife and one child, a son, and a large number of relatives, all of whom have the sympathy of the entire community in their affliction. Funeral services were held at the M.E. Church. South at 2:00 p.m. today and the remains interred in the city cemetery.
