Dr. J. G. Baldwin was the son of Jacob Baldwin and Elizabeth Jane Fitzgerald.

He married Gabriella D. Murrie (1866-1893) on 22 Dec 1887. Jaby and Gabriella had one daughter Florence Leila Baldwin.

He married Florence Josephine Jones on 10 October 1894.
Jaby and Florence had five children:
1. Clarence Jones Baldwin
2. Paul Garrett Baldwin
3. Mary Lillian Baldwin Howell (1902-2003)
4. Elizabeth Jane Baldwin McFarland (1905-1977)
5. Annie Mae Baldwin Greathouse (1909-1982)

Jaby graduated from the University of Louisville School of Medicine in 1887 and Attended a Medical course at Columbia University in New York City in 1894.
He practiced medicine in Honey Grove, Fannin County, Texas until 1912.
He moved to San Antonio, Texas and practiced medicine there until 1943.

Dr Jabez Baldwin is my great granduncle.

Services for Dr. J.G. Baldwin were held in Laurel Heights Methodist Church in San Antonio and conducted by Dr. Spann, the pastor. Dr. Baldwin was an active medical practitioner for 56 years of his life. He moved to San Antonio in 1912. he began the practice of medicine in Wolfe City, Texas and later lived in Honey Grove before moving to San Antonio. His plans to retire from practice in 1942 were cancelled after the beginning of the war and Dr. Baldwin continued active practice until his illness. Survived by his wife; children - Mrs. J.U. Fields of Haskell; Paul G. Baldwin, Mrs. Milton Howell, Mrs. Clay McFarland, Mrs. Will Greathouse.
