Born in Dauphin County, the 1st child of Henry Getz & his 2nd wife Catherine Lang. He married Sophia Weitzel daughter of Henry & Catherine Weitzel of Gatesburg on Feburary 1st 1821 . This union was blessed with 12 children. Emanuel was both a farmer & a carpenter.When he died he was laid to rest in Gatesburg Lutheran cemetery.
