MRS WILLIAM ROSE DIES SIX HOURS AFTER BLAST; RITE WERE SATURDAY
Mrs. Della Rose, 34, was fatally burned late Thursday night when the coal stove in which she was lighting a fire exploded, burning the clothes off her body, and causing injuries which resulted in her death six hours late.
Gas caused by coal oil ignited and exploded the container, scattering the flaming liquid over her person. She was taken to Citizens hospital in the Campfield-Hickman ambulance, but she died there six hours after the accident. The explosion occurred about nine o'clock.
She is survived by her husband, William Rose, two sons, Kenneth, 12 and Charles 6, her mother, Mrs. Lewis of Columbus, two brothers, George and Charles Blick (BLAKE), of Columbus, four sisters, Mrs. Dallie (Stella) Lockhart, of Woodsfield, Mrs. Omie (Yomah) Keplinger (Caplinger), Mrs. Fannie Friend and Miss Freda Sams all of Parkersburg, W.Va., and one half-sister, Mrs. Icey Mullen, of Barberton.
Funeral services were held here Saturday night at the Campfield-Hickman Memorial Home. The body was sent to Parkersburg Sunday where additional services were held at 2:30 o'clock in the afternoon. Burial was in Parkersburg.
