Robert B Gunn Passes Away

After an illness of several weeks Robert B Gunn died at his home last Thursday afternoon. Funeral services were conducted at the residence Friday afternoon by the Rev. W L Storment, pastor of the Methodist Church and burial was in the I O O F Cemetery.

Mr. Gunn who was a bachelor had lived in Chickasaw County all his life and was a member of a very old and porminent family, being the oldest son of the late Mr. W B Gunn and the late Mrs. Zadie Green Gunn. He spent his childhood near Egypt and teh family moved to Okolona when he was a very young man. For a number of years he was connected with the Mobile and Ohio Railroad; but after the death of his father he gave his time exclusively to farming interests. He was kind generous and loyal and also possessed a keen intellect and wit which helped to win friends for him. He was loved by those with whom he was closely associated and held in high esteem by all who knew him.

Mr. Gunn is survived by his sister, Mrs. Victoria Goyer, with whom he made his home, two brothers, Dr. Daniel Gunn and Albert Gunn, both of Memphis, also a niece, Mrs. E E Moffett, and nephew, James Goyer, of Memphis. All these with the exception of his nephew were present to the funeral. Mr. and Mrs. Will Harwell of Iuka, also attended the funeral.
