ELIZABETH SCRIVENER

Elizabeth Scrivner was born January 13, 1856, in Jackson, Illinois and passed away February 27, 1952 at her home in Lead Mine, Mo., being 96 years, 1 month and 14 days at the time of her death.

In 1872 she was married to John Minson and to this union one daughter, Mrs. Phoebe West was born. After the death of Mr. Minson she moved to Missouri near Corkery where she married Nathan Scrivener. Later they moved to Laclede County where one daughter, Sarah Frances was born.

In 1880 they moved to her present home at Leadmine. Since her daughter's marriage to John F. Adams, they have all lived together.

She was preceded in death by her husband, 2 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. She is survived by her two daughters, Mrs. Phoebe West of Tunas, Mo. and Mrs. Sarah Adams of Lead Mine; one sister, Mrs. Corde Barclay of Tunas; one brother, Mr. Fret Taylor of Turlock, California; 7
grandchildren and 34 great grandchildren, 31 great great grandchildren and a bevy of friends.

She accepted Christ during a tent revival near Excel, Mo over 60 years ago and united with the Kirk Chapel Methodist Church in 1892 where she remained a member until her death. (Kirk Chapel is in Dallas County)

Funeral services were held Friday February 29, 1952 at 2;00 p.m. at Kirks Chapel Church with Rev. Don Brown officiating. Interment followed in Kirks Chapel cemetery under direction of Montgomery Vaughan of Buffalo.
