Theodore VanDuzer Berdell, senior partner of Berdell Brothers, investment brokers, and a former member of the New York Stock and Curb Exchanges, died yesterday (Jan. 25) in his home, 1112 Park Avenue, after a long illness. His age was 61.
Born in London, England, he was a grandson of the late Robert H. Berdell, former president of
the Erie Railroad. He was a founder in 1908 with his brother, Charles P. Berdell, Jr., presently a partner of W. C. Langley & Company, of the firm of Berdell Brothers, one of the first brokerage concerns to specialize in public utilities securities. Also surviving are his widow, Jean Bryan Berdell, and a daughter, Mrs. Kenneth H. Hannon.
