Mahala E. Croft, aged 88 years, widow of Jehu P. Croft, died at 9 o'clock this morning at her home, 175 Lincoln Way East, Chambersburg, death being due to the infirmities of age. Had she lived until July 23rd, she would have reached her 88th year. Mrs. Croft was born in Greencastle on July 28, 1844,the daughter of Henry and Margaret (Hawbaker) Appenzellar. She was a member of the First United Brethren church, Chambersburg.
She is survived by two children, Mrs. A. L. Sherk and J. Frank Croft, both of Chambersburg, and one brother and one sister, Charles Appenzellar, Dayton, Ohio, and Mrs. J. Lower-Grimm, Spry, York county.

Funeral services will be held Saturday afternoon at 4 o'clock at the late home in charge of Rev. J. Stewart Glenn. Burial will be in Cedar Grove cemetery.
