Jewett M. Almy was born in New York about 1868. He was a resident of Gerry, Chautauqua County in 1880 at the age of 12 according to the 1880 U.S. Census. On September 25, 1895 Jewett M. Almy married Minerva "Minnie" Love at Centralia, Chautauqua County, New York.

Jewett M. and his wife Minerva "Minnie" Love Almy moved to Randolph, Chautauqua County, New York in 1902 where they resided for the rest of their lives. Jewett M. Almy was a partner in the Felt and Almy Hardware Store for many years.

Jewett M. Almy was survived by their adopted son, Robert Paul Almy and his wife Hazel of Columbia, South Carolina; a granddaughter, a great-grandchild, and several nieces and nephews, including Ruth Love Russelot of Fredonia, New York, and Fannie Harriet Love Robbins of Islip, New York.
