John Joseph Taylor, 92, and Eleanor Ruth Taylor, 90, both passed away Wednesday, Aug. 24, 2011, at the Indianola Good Samaritan Center.

Survivors include son, Kent Taylor of Urbandale and daughter, Janis Taylor of Miami, Fla.

Other survivors include John's sisters, Carolyn Erb of Indianola and Harriett Fredregill of Des Moines, 11 nieces and nephews and 21 great-nieces and nephews. Preceding in death were his parents, Roy and Rachel Taylor and her parents, Linzy and Margaret (Moffitt) Allen.

John and Eleanor were married June 14, 1942, and recently celebrated their 69th wedding anniversary. They were always together except for the first two years of their marriage when John served in the Army Air Corps in World War II. They enjoyed travel and spending time with the many friends they had in Warren County. Eleanor passed away at 6 a.m. Aug. 24 and John followed her into eternal rest just a few hours later.
Funeral services for John Joseph Taylor, 92, and Eleanor Ruth Taylor, 90, who both passed away Wednesday, August 24, 2011, at the Indianola Good Samaritan Center, will be jointly held at 2 p.m., Monday, August 29, 2011 at Overton Funeral Home in Indianola with burial following in the Belmont Cemetery, Milo, IA.
Survivors include son, Kent Taylor of Urbandale; and daughter, Janis Taylor of Miami, Florida.
Other survivors include John's sisters, Carolyn Erb of Indianola and Harriett Fredregill of Des Moines.
Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, August 28 at Overton Funeral Home where family will be present to greet friends.
The family requests no flowers. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the Warren County Historical Society, 1400 West Second Avenue, Indianola, Ia. 50125 or Kiya Koda Humane Society, 1206 N.
