Funeral services for Harry E. Winters, 74, of Warrensburg, former Illini Township Road commissioner were held July 28 in Dawson and Wikoff Funeral Home. Burial was in Illini Cemetery. Mr. Winters died July 25, in Jacksonville.
A resident of Macon County all his life, he was born May 9, 1890 in Hickory Point Township, the son of John and Teena Winters. He served as road commissioner 12 years prior to his retirement. He married Goldie E. Tuggle on Feb. 20, 1911, in Warrensburg.
He leaves his wife; two daughters, Mrs. Ida E. White of Warrensburg and Mrs. George (Jeannine) Edwards of St. Louis; two sons, William H. "Tig" and Stanley V. "Mike" both of Warrensburg; a sister, Mrs. D.S. (Anna) Knott of Peoria and six grandchildren.
