Mary Margaret McCabe, 93, passed away quietly May 24, 2008 at 9:55 p.m. at Mother Angeline McCrory Manor. She was born August 22, 1914 to Florence (Frey) and John Leidinger in Columbus, Ohio. She was a member of Christ the King parish for 47 years, participated in the choir, and led many rosary groups after daily Mass. She worked as bookkeeper for Abbott's Super Duper for 30 years. She volunteered in the community, often providing rides to and from doctor appointments for the cloistered Carmelite Sisters, and residents of the old State Hospital. She was a five year resident of The Villas of Saint Therese Assisted Living. Mary was preceded in death by her husband Edward T. McCabe, daughter Rita Jean Barbee, Sister Helen (Leidinger) Heft, grandson James B. Barbee and son-in-law James A. Barbee. She is survived by her children, Theresa (Baldur) Ciccone-Ehret, John Adam McCabe, and Connie (Frank) Carroll; 2 sisters, Carolyn Farrand, and Florence (James) Tangi; 13 grandchildren, David Barbee, Donald Barbee, Lisa(Barbee) Dorman, Kevin Barbee, Becky (McCabe) Kindt, Peggy (McCabe) Browning, Amy(McCabe) Wright, John, Robert, Jennifer, and Larry McCabe, Matthew Carroll, Douglas Carroll; many great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren; other loving family and friends. Friends may call Wednesday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the EGAN-RYAN FUNERAL HOME EAST CHAPEL, 4019 E. LIVINGSTON AVE. Mass of the Christian Burial will be held Thursday 10 a.m. at Christ The King Churh, 2777 E. Livingston Ave. Burial St. Joseph Cemetery.
