Edwin Ambuehl, 84, of rural Highland died at 10:40 a.m. Sunday in his farm home south of Grantfork.
A retired farmer, he was born on July 11, 1888, in Saline Township. His parents were the late Benedict and Margaretha Auer Ambuehl.
He was married to Lydia A. Meffert on April 3, 1919, in Grantfork. She preceded him in death on Jan. 13, 1969.
Mr. Ambuehl is survived by sons Vernon Ambuehl of rural Greenville, Arlo Ambuehl of rural Highland and Alfred Ambuehl of rural Highland, a twin sister, Ella Ambuehl of the Highland Home, 10 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by a daughter, three brothers and three sisters.
Mr. Ambuehl was a member of Grantfork United Church of Christ and the church brotherhood, American Legion Post 439 in Highland, the Highland Historical Society and the Farm Bureau.
Friends may call after 2 p.m. today and until 11:30 a.m. Tuesday at Harris Funeral Home in Highland, and after 12:30 p.m. Tuesday at Grantfork United Church of Christ.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the church, with the Rev. Carl Gabler, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Grantfork Cemetery.
