David Brown
David L. Brown Sr., who has several grandchildren and great-grandchildren living in Brown County, died Saturday, January 18, 2003, at Columbus Regional Hospital. A resident of Elizabethtown, he was 76.
Mr. Brown was born March 27, 1926, in Whiteland to William and Stella Pearl Allen Brown.
He worked for Arvin Industries for 38 years before retiring in 1988.
Mr. Brown was a member of the Upper Room Church and Quarter-Century-Club at Arvin Industries.
He is survived by three sons, David and Levi Brown of Columbus and Alan Brown of Hope; three daughters, Bev Surtees of Miami Florida, Carol Lucas of Elizabethtown, and Penny Goodin of Columbus.
He was preceded in death by five brothers, Jim Cookson, Matt, Hershel, Earl and Carl Brown; and two sisters, Tess Dunn and Dess Thompson.
A service will be held today, January 22, at Myers Funeral Service, Reed and Jewell Chapel with the Reverend Charles Goodin officiating.
Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery in Franklin.
