Mary was the middle of three children born to Joseph Luther and Minnie Lee (Swing) Moose. She married Clinton Barringer Hawkins in 1937. No children from this union.

Mary Alice Moose Hawkins

CONCORD -- Mrs. Hawkins, age 89, formerly of Forest Street, passed away Wednesday 1/31/2007 at Morningside Assisted Living Center from complications of cancer and COPD.
A memorial service will be held Sunday at 2:00 p.m. at Wilkinson Funeral Home Chapel, with Dr. John E. Boyd and Rev. Bill Milholland officiating. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 1 to 2 p.m. at Wilkinson Funeral Home.
Mary Alice was born August 14, 1917 in Cabarrus County to the late Joseph Luther Moose and Minnie Swing Moose. She retired from Cannon Mills and formerly worked in the office at the old Belk Department Store. She was a long time member of Calvary Lutheran Church. During her stay at Morningside Assisted Living since May, she did enjoy the fellowship with new friends and especially bingo and the joy rides on Friday.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Hawkins was preceded in death by her husband, Clinton 'CB' Barringer Hawkins, a sister Mrs. Margaret Moose Bartley and a brother Mr. Billy Moose.
Survivors include her cousin and primary caregiver, Deon Gray Ritchie of Concord, several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins, and special friends, Bill and Linda Heilig of Concord.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Calvary Lutheran Church 950 Bradley Street NE, Concord, NC 28025 or to Hospice and Palliative Care of Cabarrus County, 5003 Boy Scout Camp Road, Kannapolis, NC 28081.
