Susan Janette Smith, 36, of Greencastle, Pa., died Wednesday, June 23, 2004, at Waynesboro Hospital in Waynesboro, Pa.

A native and former resident of Athens, she was a former employee of the Maryland Ribbon Company in Hagerstown, Md. She was of the Presbyterian faith and had attended Mars Hill Presbyterian Church in Athens. She was preceded in death by her grandfather, Francis "Sy" Wayne Adsit, on Jan. 25, 2003.

Survivors include her mother, Janet Adsit of Athens; two brothers, Michael Eugene Smith of Atlanta, Ga., and Daniel Scott Smith of Athens, Ala.; her grandmother, Madeline Adsit of Athens; and two uncles and their families, Bill Adsit of Huntsville, Ala., and David Adsit of Riceville.

Graveside services will be 4 p.m. Friday at McMinn Memory Gardens with the Rev. Les Rust officiating.

Memorial contributions may be made to Mars Hill Presbyterian Church, 205 N.
Jackson St., Athens TN 37303.
