"Ex-Jamestowner Retires As Cash Register Official
"Willis L. Russell, of Dayton, O., formerly of Jamestown, retired yesterday as treasurer of the National Cash Register Company. He was succeeded by Eugene C Nowak.
"Mr. Russell was born in Jamestown June 27, 1901, the son of John and Mary Chalmers Russell, and attended the Jamestown Public Schools. The family residence for many years was at 544 Crescent Street.
"Mr. Russell has been with the National Cash Register Company since 1943, first as tax accountant and successively as general auditor, manager of the tax and group insurance department, assistant treasurer and treasurer. Previously from 1921-1928 he was bookkeeper, then accountant and office manager of Jeffery MAnufacturing Company; and from 1928 to 1942, as internal revenue agent and conferee with the Bureau of Internal Revenue.
"He married Emmett McLeon Oct. 28, 1919. They have one son, Thomas E. Russell.
"Mr. Russell served in the United States Army from 1918-1919. He is member of the National Association of Cost Accountants of which he is, a national director and was fomerly president of the Dayton Chapter. He is also a member of Tax Executives Institute, Dayton Chamber of Commerce, American Forestry Association, American Legion and the 40 and 8. He has also been director of the Dayton Chapter of the American Cross.
"His residence is at 2975 Atherton Road, Dayton."
