Although Mr. J.G. Allison has been in delicate health for a couple of years, and for the past few months has been in a critical condition, the announcement of his death Thursday at 11 o'clock was received with surprise by his host of friends in this city and vicinity.

Mr. Allison was born in Pennsylvania in 1825 and remained a citizen of that state until 1882, when with his family he removed to Custer county (sic), Nebraska, and from there in 1886 to the home he occupied at the time of his death, three miles northeast of this city.

He was married in 1846 to Miss Mary E. Gabby, who with four sons, William G., Thomas B., James R. and Hugh, and four daughters, Mrs. Thurman and Mrs. Winters of Cass county (sic), and Misses Nettie and Nellie at home, remain to mourn the loss of a kind and affectionate husband and father.
