From funeral card from Hixson Klein Funeral Home in Gower, Missouri: When he was eight years old his family moved by covered wagon to Roberts, Idaho. Donald served his country during WWI in the United States Army. On July 24, 1948 he was united in marriage to Hazel Cline formerly of the Dearborn and St. Joseph areas. After their marriage they lived in Phoenix, Arizona. Donald was Sec./Treas. of the hotel and restaurant union of Local 631 in Phoenix and also served as International Vice-President of Hotel and Restaurant International Union. In 1958 they moved to Oakland, California where he owned and operated two restaurants. In 1962 they moved to San Diego where he was property manager for Imperial Building Contractors.
Donald was a past first reader of the Third Church of Christ Scientist in San Diego and also was a member of the Mother Church in Boston, Massachusetts.
On Monday, October 16 he died at his home in San Diego, California.
He is survived by his wife, Hazel Cline Baldwin, San Diego, California, one foster daughter, Linda Konsmo, Washington, two grandchildren, Eric and Laura K. Konsmo, two brothers, one sister, and one half-sister, other relatives and many friends.
