This community was shocked on Friday to hear of the death of Arthur Barsness, which occurred Friday morning at a hospital at Isle, after a short illness. He was taken sick Friday with the flu which on Monday was followed by pleural pneumonia. He suffered very severely during this short time and everything possible was done for him, but God in His wisdom released him from his sufferings at the age of 39 years.
Mr. Barsness resided at Isle, Minn., where he has held the position as principal of the public school. Previous to that he has been engaged in teaching at several other places. He received his education at the University of Minnesota. Mr. Barsness was a man of excellent qualities and was held in high esteem by all who knew him, as he was a friend to all. He leaves to mourn his untimely death his wife, who was formerly Helen Christopherson of this community, and two small children, a son and a daughter, his father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. Albert Barsness, five brothers and five sisters. The remains were brought here on Saturday forenoon, accompanied by his wife and children and by his brother and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Norman Barsness of Duluth.
The funeral, which was private, took place the same day at 2:30 o'clock at the Albert Barsness home, Rev. C. B. Bestul officiating. Burial was made in the West Moe cemetery.
