GALENA, Kan. — Mrs. Violet L. Redden, 62, Galena route 2, died at 2:45 a.m. Friday at Oak Hill Hospital, Joplin, where she had been a patient for several weeks.
Mrs. Redden was born July 20, 1918, near Galena and was a lifetime area resident. She was a member of the Ladies Elks of Galena and Spring River Boat and Ski Club.
Surviving are her husband, Ralph Redden, whom she married in June 1974 at Las Vegas, Nevada, [adopted] son, Robert L. Mast, the state of Hawaii; her mother, Mrs. Ferol Wells, Baxter Springs; a sister, Mrs. Izuma Hayward, Baxter Springs; four brothers, Noah Wells and Harley Wells, both of Baxter Springs, Jack Wells, Walton, and Chuck Wells, Galena, and one grand-daughter.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Derfelt Funeral Home. The Rev. Dow Booe will officiate. Burial will be in Quaker Valley Cemetery, near Riverton.
Pallbearers will be nephews — Don Wells, Rick Wells, Steve Wells, Chuck Wells, Jack Hayward, Bill Wells and Tad Wells.
The casket will be closed at all times.
