Mr. Hermenet, who would have been 30 years old, had he lived until December 23rd, was employed in a coal mine in Waymart, Pennsylvania. He was running a shovel, when a large rock fell down upon the shovel, crushing him. The accident happened at noon Monday and the injured man was rushed to the Carbondale City hospital, where he lived until 4:30 o'clock.
He left Sodus Centre eleven years ago, leaving behind him a reputation for honesty, forthrightness and good fellowship. He was an exemplary young man, and was active in the Sodus Centre Presbyterian church, of which he was a member. He attended District School Number 9 and had a host of friends among his fellow students.
Mr. Hermenet married after he left this town, and his wife, Marie and three young children, Doris, Harry Jr., and Janet, survive him. He is also survived by his parents; two sisters, Miss Ila Hermenet of Lyons and Miss Bertha Jane Hermenet of Sodus Centre, and three brothers, Raymond, Frank and Alfred of Sodus Centre.
Services were held at the home in Pennsylvania this morning and the remains will be brought to this village about five o'clock this afternoon. Services will be conducted by Dr. L. J. Bolt of Rochester at 1 o'clock tomorrow afternoon at the home of Adrian Hermenet and the body will in interred in the Brick church cemetery.
The many friends of the family sympathize with them in the loss of so promising a member.
