Priscilla Leake Baldwin, 93, formerly of 477 West Georgia Street, passed away Saturday, January 19, 2008, at Martha Franks Baptist Retirement Center in Laurens.
A native of Spartanburg County, she was born October 7, 1914, to the late Robert J. and Nancy Varner Leake and was the widow of Joseph Kenneth "Bud" Baldwin of 48 years. She was a current member of the First Baptist Church in Laurens and was a former member of Lanford Baptist Church in Enoree and Cornerstone Baptist Church in Woodruff. She was a retired employee with Inman-Riverdale Foundation in 1978.
Surviving are one daughter and son-in-law, Carolyn B. and Brian Thomas "Tom" Reid of Laurens; one brother, Lewis Leake of Woodruff; 9 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by two sons, James Donald "Don" Baldwin and Bobby Joe Baldwin and also a grandson, Joseph Kenneth "Kenneth" Baldwin and a great-grandson, James Donald "Jimmy" Mayes III.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, January 22, 2008, at 2 p.m. at Lanford Baptist Church by the Rev. Phil Hall. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held from 1-1:45 p.m. prior to the service in the church sanctuary. The family is at the home of her daughter and son-in-law, Carolyn and Tom Reid, 209 Sherwood Drive, Laurens.
In lieu of flowers and in memory of Mrs. Baldwin, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Martha Franks Baptist Retirement Center, 1 Martha Franks Drive, Laurens, S.C.
