Ada Viola Nungester is the daughter of Orville Lee Nungester and Lily Matilda "Tillie" (VanScoder) Nungester. She married Robert M. Bauman on July 7, 1947 and he survives.
Ada was the eldest child of 5 daughters and two sons. She followed her mother by having 5 daughters and two sons of her own.
She has five daughters: Della Hopkins, Sharon Harmon, Pam Vance, Sherry Graham Huff and Peg Bauman. Two sons, Melvin Bauman and Ronald Bauman are both deceased.

She is survived by a brother, Lawrence Nungester and sisters Esther Bloomfield, Doris Eckman, and Judy Oswald. A sister, Shirley Wittenmyer, and a brother, Ivan Nungester, proceeded her in death.

She is also survived by 12 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. Three grandchildren: Cevin, Christopher and Christina proceeded her in death.

Ada retired from ExCello Corporation, now known as Airfoil Textron, Inc. in Fostoria, Ohio.

Her favorite color was red. She loved all things red and sought much joy when her grandchildren declared red their favorite color. Her favorite bird was the red Cardinal and her favorite flower was the red Rose. Ada loved to crochet and make baby blankets as gifts.

In July 2007, it was discovered that Ada had Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma. Despite chemotherapy and radiation treatments she lost her battle to cancer.

Ada V. Bauman, age 77, of Van Buren, passed away on Thursday, May 22, 2008, at 10:30 am at home surrounded by her family. She was born on October 17, 1930 to the late Orville and Lily "Tillie" (Van Scoder) Nungester. On July 7, 1947 she married Robert M. Bauman and he survives in Van Buren. Surviving Ada are five daughters, Della (Robert) Hopkins, Sharon (Dave) Harmon, Pam (Calvin) Vance, Peg Bauman all of North Baltimore and Sherry Huff of Van Buren. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, four step-great-grandchildren and one step-great-great-grandson. Three sisters, Esther Bloomfield and Doris (Carl) Eckman of North Baltimore and Judy (Raymond) Oswald, one brother, Lawrence (Virginia) Nungester and sister-in-law Pat Nungester all of Findlay, also survive. Ada was also preceded in death by two sons, Melvin and Ronald Bauman, one sister Shirley Wittenmyer, one brother Ivan Nungester and three grandchildren. She retired from Excello Corp. in Fostoria after 38 1/2 years of service. Ada was a member and board member of Praise Chapel Pentecostal Church of God in North Baltimore and was also a leader of Praise Chapel Women's Ministry. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 27, 2008, from 2:00 4:00 & 6:00 8:00 PM at SMITH-CRATES FUNERAL HOME, North Baltimore. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, May 28, 2008, at SMITH-CRATES FUNERAL HOME, with Pastor Jon Reynolds officiating. Burial will follow in Knollcrest Gardens, east of Findlay.
