Sylvia Valencia West was born at 109 Valencia Street in San Francisco, California on 1 February 1890 at 3:00 PM. She was given A Name and A Blessing at Hood River Oregon by her father, Joseph Alva West, on 11 April 1890, Sylvia Ann Child's, her mother's 21st birthday. When she was of age, she started attending school in Baker City, Oregon, where her family lived. She was baptized a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on 3 July 1899 by William Stilwell. And confirmed on that same day by her grandfather, Warren G. Child. She had blue eyes and light colored hair. She liked doing fancy needlework and music. She died from the effects of lye poisoning on the 17 July 1904 at the Ogden Hospital.
