"Red" was born February 17, 1918 in Clarendon, Texas to Rev. William and
Mattie N DeBord . He grew up in Hedley with four brothers and three sisters. In 1940 he married Anita Mae Harris in Quail, Texas. He had been a resident of Stratford since 1950 and was owner/operator of Dirt Works before his retirement. "Red" was a member of First Baptist Church and served as a deacon for many years. He loved being with family and friends. He was a number one booster of the Stratford Elks.
He was preceded in death by his son Weldon Dwayne DeBord and grandson Mickey Lee Brower Hudson.
Survivors include; his wife Anita of the home, daughters, Sonja Kendrick and husband, Cagle of Stratford, Barbara Hudson Moore and husband Taylor, and Grovene Handing all of Amarillo; sister, Edna Dishman of Dallas; grandchildren, Stacy, Brian, Craig, Preston, Yvette, Cheryl, Tammy and Will; 20 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
