Betty E. Lieland
Betty E. (Currey) Lieland, 78, Rushville, died Thursday at Rush Memorial Hospital.
Born on Feb. 20, 1919, in Wayne County, she was the daughter of Claude E. and Gladys Belle (Adams) Currey. She married Melvin G. Lieland on Oct. 16, 1938. He preceded her in death on March 28, 1995
Mrs. Lieland lived most of her life in Rushville. She was a 1937 graduate of Morgan Park High School in Chicago. She was a member of the St. Mary Catholic Church, the Daughters of the American Revolution and the Rush County Historical Society.
Survivors include, a son, James M. Lieland, Rushville; two daughters, Mrs. H. Hoyt (Joann) Gorrell, Champaign, Ill., and Mrs. Joe R. (Barbara) VanHuss, Greenwood; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at the St. Mary Catholic Church in Rushville with the Rev. Roger Rudolf presiding. Burial will be in the Calvary Cemetery, Rushville.
Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday at Moster & Cox Mortuary in Rushville. On Sunday, there will be a D.A.R. service at 6 p.m. and a rosary service at 7:30 p.m. at the mortuary.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Rush Memorial Hospital Home Health Care.
