TED MENDENHALL DIES AT 69
HE WAS WITH RAILWAY EXPRESS HERE FOR MANY YEARS
Theodore R. (Ted) Mendenhall, a retired employee of the RIA Express Co. died at 8 o'clock this morning at his home, 102 East Jackson street. He had been in failing health several years. He was 69.
Mr. Mendenhall, a son of Elmer Marcus Mendenhall and Mamie Grace (Isreal) Mendenhall was born June 17, 1900 in Livingston County. He spent his lifetime in Livingston County and in Chillicothe. He attended Oak Grove rural school.
He was a member of Highview Baptist Church, the Lock Springs Masonic Lodge, IOOF Lodge, The American Legion, and the Autumn Leaves Club.
He served with the Kansas National Guard in 1918.
ON December 25, 1920 he married Miss Edna Lee Dowell at Chillicothe.
Mr. Mendenhall is survived by his wife; two daughters, Mrs. Leslie (Lucille) Andrews, Wichita, Kan. and Mrs. Forrest (Marjorie) Walker, Chillicothe; a brother Wayne R. Mendenhall, Chillicothe; three sisters, Mrs. Lottie Jones, Mrs. Grace Catron and Miss Emma Mendenhall, Chillicothe; five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by a grandson David Andrews and a granddaughter Gayle Ann Walker.
Memorial services will be held at 2 o'clock Wednesday afternoon from the chapel of the Norman Funeral Home. Interment will be in Edgewood cemetery.
Masonic services to which the public is invited and family visitation will be held from 7:30 to 8:30 Tuesday evening at the chapel of the funeral home.
