Edna Lee Mendenhall, age 93, of Chillicothe, died Wednesday, May 24, 1995 at Hedrick Medical Center in Chillicothe.
She was born June 20, 1901 in Cedar County, Missouri, the daughter of Hedge William and Laura Mae Mingus Dowell.
On Dec. 25, 1920, she married Theodore "Ted" Roosevelt Mendenhall. He preceded her in death in 1969.
Mrs. Mendenhall moved to Chillicothe from Cedar County in 1903. She attende3d school in Livingston County. Mrs. Mendenhall was a homemaker and was a member of Highview Baptist Church and Vern R. Glick Unit 25, American Legion Auxiliary, both of Chillicothe.
Survivors include two daughters, Lucille Andrews of Wichita, Kan., and Marjorie Walker of Chillicothe; four grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by four brothers, Arthur, Vern Lloyd and William Dowell; four sisters, Mattie Summerville, Alice Jackson, Elizabeth Dowell and Nora Mae Dowell; and two grandsons, Mike Walker and David Andrews.
Funeral serices will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 27, 1995 at Highview Baptist Church. Burial will be at Edgewood Cemetery in Chillicothe.
There will be a family visitation from 10 a.m. until service time on Saturday, May 27, at the church.
The family suggests that memorial contributions may be made to the Highview Baptist Church, which may be left at the church.
Services are under the direction of the Mt. Moriah-Freeman Funeral Home in Kansas City.
Local arrangements were under the direction of the Norman-Wagy-Gordon Funeral Home in Chillicothe.
