James "Jim" Edward "Eddie" Campbell born May 20, 1936 in Covington, Virgina passed away peacefully in his sleep April 26, 2024.

Jim, was born and raised in Covington and was involved in many activities. He was a lifeguard and played all sports. He excelled in and loved baseball! He was raised on "the hill" and loved going to the McAllister Memorial Presbyterian Church at the base of it. He loved going back to his high school reunions to see the town and all his friends, who said he was a rascal and very popular. After high school graduation he proudly served in the United States Army.

After the Army, in search of work, he and some buddies headed to Denver, Colorado to work for Stanley Aviation. It was there that he met his wife of almost 62 years, Sandy who had travelled from Texas to see family. As fate would have it, he married that big blue eyed, beautiful Texas girl! They had their first daughter there and then ventured to Texas where they lived in the DFW area the rest of the time and there they added a second daughter.

Jim started work with Bell Helicopter Textron and retired in 1998 after 35 years of service. Jim was involved in his community of Keller when it was just a small town, serving as Lion's Club President, helping with the Keller Fair and many other community activities. He was always involved in his church in many capacities, serving as a Sunday School teacher, Head of the Deacons, Stewardship Committee, Vacation Bible School, Awanas, youth camp and anything he was needed to do. He was a great servant leader, volunteer, prayer warrior and mentor to many. He attended Joshua Baptist Church.

He loved to travel the world with his wife and sometimes his daughters and he went on many fishing trips with his beloved fishing buddies. His favorite places were Alaska and The Holy Land.

The highlight of his life was his family. He was the best of the best as a Father to his girls, and an exceptional Granpa/Gramps/Grampsy to his grandkids. He was even able to meet three great grandkids. He didn't miss many activities his kids, grandkids and great grandkids participated in. He could be seen at games, recitals, parties, concerts, pep rallies and theatre productions they were a part of. He was even a soccer coach again last year! He loved and was loved by his nieces and nephews and many, many friends that he made throughout the years.

Jim is preceded in death by his parents, James Monroe and Lucille Pauline Gray Smith Campbell and his two younger brothers Gene Herbert Campbell and Ryland Monroe Campbell.

He is survived by his wife Sandy, his two daughters Jeanie Campbell Peel and husband Mark, Jacque Campbell Disher and husband Frank, grandkids, Colton Peel, Alex Wall and wife McKay, Brannan Wall and wife Bailey, and Chandler Putman and husband Jacob, the great grandchildren, Ryland Peel, Avy Kate Wall and Carter Rose Putman and a huge group of nieces, nephews, cousins, sister in laws and close friends.
