He was born in Schenectady and lived in the Central Square area since 1965. He also lived in Alaska and Florida returning to Central Square in 1994.
Mr. Harrison worked as a heavy-equipment operator, pipe layer and foreman for several construction companies. He owned and operated his own company, DE-80 Construction in Central Square, the past 10 years.
Mr. Harrison served in the Marine Corps from 1956 to 1959.
He was a member of the Elks Club & Moose Club in Alaska.
Surviving are his wife, Marjorie; a son, Robert J. of Central Square; a daughter, Deborah J. Harrison of Hastings; three stepdaughters, Joan Wire of Deltona, Fla., and Sharon Nowak and Audrey Jackson, both of Fort Atkinson, Wis.; two sisters, Marjorie Paige of Duanesburg and Laurel Curtis of Central Square; six grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Services are 11 a.m. Thursday at Traub Funeral Home, Central Square. Burial is in Union Settlement Cemetery, West Monroe.
Calling hours are 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, 684 N. Main St.
