Frank Warren Bathrick ceased to beat at five o'clock the afternoon of July 23, 1892. His sudden death was a fearful shock to his many friends, who, in the midst of the annual harvest of earth, were brought so swiftly in the presence of the heavenly garnering of this young life by the reaper.
Those who knew him in the sturdy strength of his manhood testify to his superior qualities of soul his regard for all things pure and holy his devotion to his parents and his God. Born April 9, 1867, in the town of Curran, the deceased had just completed the golden circle of a quarter of a century. He was the second son of F. S. and Mary Bathrick. Around his bedside father, mother, brother an sister lingered, praying for a ray of hope, dreading the inevitable shadow of the death angel's wing. What could e more tender or a source of sweeter joy than the memory of his parting words to his beloved mother, when he spoke as if already within the portal, this blessed assurance of his affection: "I love you." The funeral services were very largely attended in the Presbyterian church at Sechlerville, in which he was baptized.
