His brother, Donald M. Graham was born one year later. Elvan grew up in Wenatchee and married Mary Elenore Davis on Dec. 15, 1940. They lived in Seattle, Olympia and Wenatchee until 1947, when they moved to Alaska where Elvan was employed by the Federal Aviation Agency. They remained in Alaska for 30 years working at three airports; Yakataga, Annette Island near Ketchikan, and Juneau. After retirement in 1980, they returned to Wenatchee. Elvan was active in church ministry throughout his life and was known for his quiet gentle spirit. He grew up in the Wenatchee Church of the Brethren and was a member of the United Methodist Church in Juneau, Alaska.
Elvan was an active ham radio operator, call letters KL7KW, for over 40 years.
Elvan was preceded in death by Mary E. John, his wife of 62 years; and brother, Donald M. Graham. Elvan is survived by three children, Carol Wright and husband Jim, of Anchorage, AK and Kirkland, WA., Kathy McEwen and husband Duane, of Lynden, WA., Chris John and wife Janet, of Ketchikan, AK; brother-in-law, Arthur C. Davis of Seattle; nine grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. He was a friend to all and will be greatly missed.

A graveside Memorial Service for family and close friends will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday, August 24, 2005, at the Evergreen Memorial Park in East Wenatchee, Washington. Arrangements are by Flintofts Issaquah Funeral Home.
