Mrs. Grace Huffaker of Tahoka departed this life on May 17, 2008, at the age of 88 years.

She was born July 31, 1919 at Three Lakes, Lynn County, to Sam and Jennie Burns Ellis. Mrs. Huffaker graduated from Cristoval High School in 1936. She then attended Draughans Business College in Abilene. Grace moved to Tahoka from Cristoval in 1940. She married Maurice J Huffaker on July 5, 1942, in San Diego, Calif. He preceded her in death April 7, 2007. Mrs. Huffaker was a homemaker, a member of the Phebe K. Warner Study Club, Lynn County Hospital Auxiliary, a devoted wife and mother and a member of the First United Methodist Church.

Those left to cherish her memory are two daughters, Chloie Jan and husband Jim Wells of Tahoka, and Leasa and husband John Thomas of Wolfforth; one son, Mike and wife Beth Huffaker of Tahoka; nine grandchildren, Jennie Hughes and husband Erik, Betsy Addison and husband Louis, Kelly Kallail and husband Matt, Katy McGovern and husband James, Abby Thompson and husband Chris, Leah Beth Moore and husband David, David Thomas and wife Kassidy, Matthew Wells, and Sarah Thomas; and ten great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Huffaker was preceded in death by her parents and nine brothers and sisters.

The family will receive friends at the home of Mike and Beth Huffaker at 2426 North 3rd, Tahoka, Texas.

Celebration of Life Services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, May 20, 2008, at the First United Methodist Church, with Rev. Vernon Baker and Rev. Marvin Gregory officiating. Interment will follow in the Nevels Memorial Cemetery in Tahoka.

Memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church at 1801 Ave J, Tahoka, Texas 79373; Lynn County EMS at 2600 Lockwood, Tahoka, TX 79373; or Nurscare Hospice at 1312 Texas Ave, Lubbock, Texas 79401.
