We hope that every day is a beautiful golf day in heaven. It is with heartfelt sadness that the family of Lorraine Baird-Barrow announce her passing on September 6, 2015. She passed peacefully with her family at her side and in the comfort of her home.

Lorraine was born on February 10, 1943 in Port Arthur. It was here that she met and married her first true love, Paul Baird, in September 1962. Their three children were their pride and joy. She and Paul were happily married for over 25 years and they enjoyed a life filled with love, travel, camping and spending time with their children. The family suffered the loss of Paul in April 1990.

When she was 18, Lorraine completed the Registered Nurse Assistant program. Being an RNA was a natural fit to her caring, gentle, and kind nature and she worked on the maternity and surgical floors.

Lorraine was fortunate to be able to find true love again with Fred Barrow. They married in their favourite travel location, Las Vegas, in March 1998. Many fond memories and friendships were cultivated at their home away from home in Needles, California, where they travelled as snowbirds over the last 19 years. Life there consisted of happy hours, hot tubs, golf, casino nights, and feasts shared with many friends at Needles Marina Park.

Lorraine enjoyed life to the fullest and was involved in numerous activities such as bingo, card club, curling, bowling, and golfing. She is lovingly remembered and cherished by her husband of 17 years, Fred Barrow, son Rob (Janice - Pam & Paul) of London, son Kevin (Leanne - Cameron & Madeline), daughter Debbie (Rob - Amanda & Jessica) Mithrush, twin sister Lynne (Sig) Schaarschmidt, brother Ken (Liliane) Stirrett, sisters-in-law Elinor (Nelson) Medinski and Linda Mills, the extended Barrow family, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles and dear friends.

She was predeceased by her parents, Duncan and Laila, and her first husband, Paul.

If friends desire and in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the TBRHSC Foundation Northern Cancer Fund or charity of choice. A Celebration of Life has been planned for Saturday, September 12, 2015, from 1:00-5:00 at the Italian Cultural Centre, 132 Algoma St. S.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Everest Funeral Chapel, 299 Waverley Street at Algoma.

In her final days, Lorraine reflected fondly on her life and stated: "I had a good life, 3 amazing children of whom I am so proud and who gave me six wonderful grandchildren. I travelled and made so many friends. I have no regrets and lived a fulfilled life."
