Elizabeth ("Lizzie") Barkman was the daughter of Adam Barkman and Elizabeth (Brown) Barkman. Lizzie's mother died between 1874 and 1880.
Lizzie Barkman married James Robert Bryden, son of James C. Bryden and Mary Jane Sadorus, on December 26, 1894, in Sacramento, Sacramento County, California; although they were separated on January 1, 1920, when the 1920 Census was taken, they were still married when the husband died two years later. This couple had two children, a son and a daughter, namely:
JAMES CHARLES ("CHARLIE") BRYDEN (1896-1942) and
GLADYS MARGARET (BRYDEN) [DE LANCEY] O'BRIEN (1898-1972).
