Christiana Ann Fraser was born in Fochabers, Moray, Scotland to William Fraser and Margaret Clubb.

Christina Fraser Lawful Daughter to William Fraser Plasterer Fochabers & Margaret Clubb was born the 24th January 1850 and baptized 3 February 1850 witnesses, her grandmother Christina Leitch and Alex Roswell in Bellie. OPR 1850 126 153/298.


She married William Barker on 15 Oct 1872 in Rochdale, England and to that union they were blessed with 7 children Annie was born in 1873, Helen was born in 1875, Edith was born in 1877, Margaret was born in 1879, Frank was born in 1880 he died young in 1891, Archibald was born in 1883 died young in 1884 and Agnes in 1888.


On the 5th of June 1889 William Barker passed away leaving a widow and his children to mourn him.


Christiana remarried James Henry Buckley a Widower of Emily Cole.

James and Emily had 5 Children. They are no known children to James and Christiana.


On Jan 4 1912, She boarded The Ironic with her young granddaughter Christiana Fitton. It would take them 70 days to arrive in Wellington and meet with her daughter Edith Fitton's family who were already settled there. She would spent the next 22 Years in Wellington, New Zealand.


Four of her children survived her, known were Helen Rushton, Edith Fitton, Margaret Quayle.

Her Grandchildren that survived her were Harvey, Arthur, Robert, John, Christina, Nellie and Frederick Fitton, Frank and Fred Rushton, and Agnes Quayle.
