Mrs. E. B. Bartle, 2124 Harriet avenue south, died Tuesday at her country home at Mound, Lake Minnetonka. Funeral services will be held at Davis' undertaking rooms, near Eighth street and Hennepin avenue, today at 3 o'clock.
Mrs. Bartle was 78 years old, and has been a resident of this city for 16 years. She leaves two sons, Earnest E. and Ralph S. Bartle, both of Minneapolis, a brother, C. A. Bausman, of this city, and a sister, Miss Dora Bausman of Des Moines.
During the Civil War Mrs. Bartle was the first woman to volunteer to take a man's place as a salesperson in a retail store, and was instrumental in getting other women to take similar positions.
