After an illness of about a month Miss Elizabeth Berdux, a well known resident of Wellesley village passed away on Thursday afternoon at the age of 62 years, 3 months and 15 days. The late Miss Berdux was born and raised in Wellesley and with the exception of five years spent in the west always lived here. She was a prominent worker in the Mission Lutheran Church and was president of the women's institute for the last number of years. Besides her sister, Minnie, who lived with her here, she leaves two sisters, Mrs. J. Landreth and Mrs. Witte, of Winnipeg, and two brothers, Casper of Wellesley, and Peter of Waterloo.


The funeral was held on Sunday afternoon and was attended by a large number of friends and relatives. Rev. Pranschke, the pastor of her church, conducted the services and Rev. Gallmeier of Elmira, who had been her pastor while in the West, delivered a memorial address in English. The family have the sympathy of a host of Wellesley and other friends.
