William Caton Abel, 59, died Monday, April 14, 2014 at his home in Woodland after a lengthy illness. He was preceded in death by a brother, Wharton Abel.
A native of Stafford, Virginia he worked 27 years as a Pipe Fitter and Heavy Equipment Operator and was known by those who knew him as a loving, caring, and generous person.
Survivors include Susan Fitch of their home; children, Kimberly Dawn Passley of Hampton VA, Denis Wayne Passley of Fredricksburg, VA, Betty Jo Passley, Billy Lee Able, and Aaron Elvis Able of Woodland; 17 grandchildren; sister, Marie Maddox of Virginia Beach, VA; Marion Roles of Stafford, VA; a special friend, Joi Barnette; and good friend and former wife, Angie Able of Jacksonville, NC. The family will be receiving friends from 1:30 to 3:30 P.M on Saturday, April 19, 2014 in Bridgers Funeral Home, Inc., 605 West Main St., Conway, NC 27820 and his Funeral Service will follow there at 4:00 P.M.
