After graduating from High School in Windom, Texas she attended Nursing school in Plainview, Texas. She obtained her RN certification and was Director of Nurses for Clovis Memorial Hospital.
She married Scott Henderson the son of Eagle & Grace Henderson.
Thelma and Scott had five children: Gloria, Betty, Mike, Suzanne, & Walter.
They had a grandson and grand-daughter precede them in death.
